Andrew Llewellyn has been the Operations and Production Coordinator at St. Mary’s College of Maryland since 2011. Later that year, he took on the same role at the Chesapeake Orchestra. Driven by relationship building and his love of music, Andrew works with music students, school administrators, professional musicians, and executive leaders of both organizations, to continuously adapt production and programming needs for over 80 performing arts events per year.
As an emerging leader in two small organizations, he has had the ability to wear many hats across the spectrum of concert production. Andrew collaborates with the admissions team at St. Mary’s to recruit high school students for the music department. He also coordinates the travel and lodging accommodations for national and international guest solo artists, the student participants of the Alba Music Festival in Italy, and designs the website for its Young Artist Program. As a five-time participant in the international music festival, he has also performed with the Romania State Philharmonic Orchestra.
Andrew has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a trombone performance minor from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He continues to study trombone with Bryan Bourne, former principal trombonist of “The President’s Marine Band,” and perform with the Chesapeake Orchestra. He is an Honorary Member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America and is passionate about reading, international travel, and a great cup of coffee.
